Three Years Free Servicing For Nissan GT-R
Nissan announces new servicing package for 2011 GT-R
Nissan is hot on the heels of Ferrari's decision to introduce a 'free servicing' package, having just announced that it is to offer its own three-year FOC servicing package for the GT-R.
There is a catch, however - this is free only to customers who choose to buy via Nissan's personal contract financing package.
People who choose to buy 2011 GT-R via any other means (or already own a 2011 car) can get hold of the new package, which covers you for three years or 27k miles.
All labour, parts, oils and fluids required to carry out routine maintenance, by a Nissan High Performance Centre (there are apparently 19 of those across the UK), are fully covered by the policy.
Oh, and Nissan will also chuck in RAC cover gratis when you sign up, which is nice...

If Only TVR could have done this - might still be in business (or maybe not based on the SP6).
Make you wanna get a GTR - Nice cars, But Christ they are BIG!
That's the one thing that puts me off them, the rear end looks similar in size to Dawn French's. If you put 4 red tea plates on Dawn's arse they would be indistinguishable.Make you wanna get a GTR - Nice cars, But Christ they are BIG!
Why is it so big? You can't knock the performance though.

Great offer, have to admit the servicing costs were what put me off getting one.
Seriously? Its a very complex and expensive car; what did you expect? For me this seems like a poor way to generate new sales. People in the market for new GTR's surely (??) aren't going to expect £150 services. They're not buying MINI's or Fiestas.
An organised trip to the Nurburgring or a Factory tour (where possible etc) seems more of a pull IMO.

This still won't include tyres or discs / pads so I'm not sure I see the point, also Ferrari's offer was unlimited mileage from memory so this seems a poor attempt at matching that if it's what the plan was from Nissan.
No manufacturer would cover tyres and brakes and how many Ferrari's do more than 9k miles a year anyway. No sure of the GTR pricing (it'll be on their website) but they gave my folks a superb deal on finance for their Xtrail. Throw in employee discount from a mate who to my surprise is an uncle *cough* and it was a no brainer. Wonder if there's similar employee discount and superb finance on a GTR

That wasn't my point, my point was that will probably be a bigger cost than the routine 'servicing' so still doesn't make these cheap to run! I know of a few people that will likely do a lot more than 9k miles in a year in either their GTR's or Ferrari's.goron59 said:
Not good. If you've got to use a finance plan, you're already p1ssing money down the drain.
I agree to a point. If you're using a 0% deal then you're not pi$$ing as much money away as you can do with some of these ridiculously uncompetitive in-house deals most major manufacturers offer. But, if you're buying a new car, you should be prepared to pi$$ away a substantial chunk of that over the first 3 years or so anyway.Worth mentioning that the "free" RAC cover is something that Nissan does for all it's cars, provided you service them at the main dealer. Took my girlfriends Micra in for it's first service last month and was handed a piece of paperwork with details on the free RAC cover! Nice touch!
